Similarities and Differences Between Ares and Mars
Ares and Mars were similar because they both were the gods of war. Lots of times, Ares, the Greek god, was not the favorite god of the Greeks because he loved bloodshed and battle. Unlike Ares, Mars was the second most important god to the Romans, under Jupiter. He was originally a god of agriculture but then became a god of war, which was when the Romans identified him with the Greeks god Ares. He was different then Ares because he was the god of agriculture and Ares was never more then just a god of war and battle.
